CLUB HISTORY

Senior Side... AFC Vernon
The club was formed for the start of the 1992/93 season called Vernon Villa and was entered straight into the premier division of the Notts Amateur league due to the fact that many of the players had played at that standard before. At that time, the league had many good footballing sides including Wollaton , Southwell and Kimberley MW all of whom now play in the Notts Senior league where we will also be this season.
It wasn't until the 96/97 season that we won our first piece of silverware in the form of the Senior ko cup and and we went on to retain it four years in succession. The 97/98 season brought us the league and cup double pipping Valley Park for the league title by a single point . It was after this run of form that we applied to enter the Notts Alliance but we were refused owing to our lack of facilities and using a council pitch. A few years later the Notts Amateur and Notts Alliance merged to become the Notts Amateur Alliance and we went on to win the senior cup again during seasons 2002/3 and 2006/7.
The club is looking forward to a new beginning in a new league and hope for plenty of success in bringing silverware to Vernon Park.
