Our Senior team, Vernon Villa have played in the Notts Amateur League top flight for many years before becoming founder members of the Notts Amateur Alliance in 2004. After five years in the Premier Division of the NAA Vernon have joined the NSL and will compete in the NSL Second Division from 2009.
When the footballing people of Nottinghamshire talk junior football, a handfull of top sides spring to mind. AFC Vernon is probably one of the first. Although their home games are played on a council park, there is definatley some some kind of magic surrounding the club. Yes, they provide charter standard coaching and are in a great central catchment area. But there is a lot more than that! Years of success on the field and the ability to attract some of the best youngsters aswell as top scouts in Nottingham, is simply the by product of the Vernon magic!
FA Community Clubs
The FA Community Club scheme builds upon the foundations of the Charter Standard scheme in placing clubs at the heart of their community.
Community Clubs, the pinnacle of the club development pathway, will be those that have a high quality, multi-team (minimum of 10 teams) set up with excellent social, training and playing opportunities for all. As such, the number of Community Clubs is one of the truest measures of success for The FA Football Development strategy.
All new FA Community Clubs are required to meet FA criteria, ensuring they provide opportunities for players irrespective of age, gender, religion and ability. Clubs must also provide qualified coaches, first aiders and child protection officers.
For the 2010/11 season we have 20 teams.

RECORD-BREAKERS SLAM 20!
Vernon Villa 1st Team smashed all records for the most consecutive wins, longest unbeaten run and the most individual goals scored in a game in the NSL Division 2 in the 2009/10 Season.
They smashed the NSL record win by hitting 20 (yes twenty) without reply against lowly Bottesford. Connor Carter was the star of the show, also setting a record for the most individual goals in a game, rattling in no fewer than eight, while Ako Mohamed and Andrew Martin added to Bottesford’s woes with a hat-trick apiece.
